Our Waiver Program
is an integrated array of assisted living services
and supports designed to help individuals with developmental
disabilities who without supports would be at risk
for institutionalization to live successfully in
their own homes, with family, or in an alternate
living situation.
Regardless of residence
or location, every Waiver participant receives assistance
through a specialized Plan of Care. The Planof Care
is developed with an aim of helping participants
achieve maximum independence
|
|
by identifying
the Self-Care, Socialization, and Adaptive skills they need
to live in the community. Appropriate Waiver staff are then
selected to work with participants to strengthen those skills,
with the hope that the need for services will eventually be
reduced or eliminated altogether. For example, a Plan of Care
may indicate the participant needs staff to assist them with
such tasks as laundry, grooming, housekeeping, money management,
shopping, meal preparation, etc.
The Waiver services provided
by Independent Living, Inc. are specifically tailored to each
individual, and may range from 40 hours a month to 24 hours
a day, depending on the individual’s needs.
