Our Residential Program offers
individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity
to live in a group home with 24 hour supervised assistance
and care. Independent Living facilities include a male and
a female group home. Each residence has the capacity to
accommodate nine tenants with all the comforts of home.
Each resident has an individual bedroom, and shares a bathroom
with one other resident. Common living areas include a large
kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and back
yard with patio. Our residents enjoy such activities as
volleyball, basketball, board games, singing, dancing, going
to the movies, and other field trips.
Like our Waiver participants,
every group home resident receives assistance through a specialized
Plan of Care. The Plan of Care is developed with an aim of
helping residents achieve maximum independence by identifying
the Self-Care, Socialization, and Adaptive skills they need
to live in the community. Residential staff members work with
residents to strengthen those skills, with the hope that the
need for services will eventually be reduced or eliminated
altogether. For example, a Plan of Care may indicate the resident
needs staff to assist them with such tasks as laundry, grooming,
housekeeping, money management, shopping, meal preparation,
etc.
